Welcome to the Tennessee Board Of Regents Campus Collaborative

The seal of the Tennessee Board of Regents (used here as a placeholder) The Tennessee Board of Regents technology centers, community colleges, and universities have joined in a collaborative, strategic planning effort to offer the Regents Online Degree Programs (RODP) and the Regents Online Continuing Education and Workforce Development (ROCE).

New Degree to be Offered: Associate of Applied Science in Nursing - Fall 2008

The Tennessee Board of Regents is pleased to announce the approval of a new program - the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) to be offered through the Regents Online Degree Program. This program will prepare nurses to write the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) to obtain the title of Registered Nurse (RN) and will directly impact
the nursing shortage which critically affects Tennessee and the nation. Please watch this website for information related to eligibility requirements and the application process. Until that information is available, please direct all inquiries to Dr. Holder at 615-366-3936 or aasn-inquiry@tbr.edu.

New Online Orientation to E-Learning Available

All students enrolled in an online course through RODP/ROCE are encouraged to complete this orientation so that they will be prepared for successfully engaging in online learning. The orientation is available at http://www.rodp.org/orientation/.

New Student-Centered Course Management System

The layout of the Desire2Learn course management system is different from that of WebCT.Starting this fall most TBR institutions will be using a new course management system to deliver their online courses. Students and faculty in summer pilot courses report the new system is GREAT! Visitors are welcome to explorer the new system.

New Programs in Web Technology and Web Page Authoring
(available Fall 2007)

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) have approved the following new programs delivered through RODP starting August 2007.

  • Web Technology
    Degree: AAS (Associate of Applied Science)
  • Web Page Authoring
    Degree: C1 (Certificate).

Master of Professional Studies - Strategic Leadership

(available Fall 2006)

The six TBR Universities are now taking applications for the new Master of Professional Studies (MPS) - Strategic Leadership. The MPS is an interdisciplinary graduate degree program designed for working adults who wish to pursue graduate professional studies. The Strategic Leadership concentration prepares you to lead in today's rapidly changing professional environment. Because the MPS degree is offered online, it offers the flexibility to plan your education around your schedule, family activities, and job demands.

*RODP was rated as one of the top three virtual programs in the nation by The Center for Academic Transformation Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 2003; recognized by SREC for online student services; showcased as an exemplary system wide model at the national WebCT International Conference, 2003; selected as the "Virtual University of Choice" by the Asian American Educational Support Center in Bangladash, India, 2004; and invited to serve as the international partner for online cross cultural educational teaching and learning exchanges and online faculty professional development training for Mekelle University, Ethiopia, 2005.
